We had a good meeting Wednesday. Here are the decisions we made:-
- Meetings: The Sand Ridge Outingdale Fire Safe Council will meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. For the time being, we'll meet at my house, then at Sta. 32 if the group gets bigger.
- CERT: Jane and Ripley will work with Lynn S. from the Grizzly Flats CERT (Citizens Emergency Response Team) to organize and set up training for a CERT team here.
- Newsletter: We will get a newsletter out to all SOFSC residents as soon as possible. We may be able to get some discounts on printing. Ripley will work with Linda on production, Brenda with printing, and we will talk to the EDC FSC and the Pioneer Fire Dept. for help with costs and postage.
- Advisers: Gretchen and Brenda will work on setting up "adviser teams" and will start advising after the newsletter is mailed out.
- Evacuation Routes: Ripley will gather information about establishing evacuation routes. It may be necessary to obtain grant money to accomplish this. Outingdale has an evacuation route set up, but there seems to be some confusion about it.
- Calendar: There is a new "calendar of events" on the SOFSC Web site: http://sofiresafe.org/calendar If you have anything reasonably related to what we are doing, let me know and I'll put it up.
- Reports on progress at the next meeting, Weds., Sept 5.
